                TOP OF OPERATORS ACTIVITY CONTEST

                                          TAC

  This contest is dedicated to the  memory of the TOPS  CW CLUB members, qrv or sk.
                                    (TOPS CW CLUB , founded in 1946)

  Objectives:
To contact in CW as many ham radio stations.
            To promote the CW communication skills  and talent.
            The possibility to obtain the awards of PRO-CW-Club.
               
  1. Organizer PRO-CW-CLUB, ROMANIA.

 
2. Date and Contest Period: The first full weekend of December, between Saturday 16:00:00 UTC to Sunday 15:59:59 UTC
           For 2012: December 1-2. ( 7th edition)

  3.
Mode, Bands and Call:
      - only CW, 80, 40, 20, 15, 10m.
      - any band can be used at any time;
      - please not using DX band segments;
      - cross band contacts are not permitted;
      - it is allowed to transmit only one signal at any given time;
      - use DX spotting networks is permitted;
      Contest call is "CQ TAC" or "TEST TAC".
  
   
4. Entry Categories:  A, B, C,  D80, D40, D20, D15, D10, E, F, G.
             A     -  Single Operator Multiband, Low Power, no more than  100 W.
             B     -  Single Operator Multiband, High Power, over 100 W.
             C     -  Single Operator Multiband, QRP, max. 10 W out power.
            
D80Single Operator 80m band, any power.
             D40Single Operator 40m band, any power.
             D20Single Operator 20m band, any power.
             D15Single Operator 15m band, any power.
             D10Single Operator 10m band, any power.
             E     -  Multi-Operator, single TX, multiband only, any power, (all club stations and team entry).
             F     -  PRO-CW-Club and TOPS members, multiband only, including members using QRP.
             G    -  SWL

  New: A competitor may participate in max. two categories.(Only competitors in categories A,B and D)
                   (For example: A and D80, B and D20 D40 and D15, D10 and CHECKLOG for other QSOs , so.)
                   In this case send two Cabrillo logs, competitors can use a continuous serial number for the whole
                   contest or they can use for each band separate qso numbers starting with 001.
                   For GRAND TROPHY gather points from the log with the highest score and
if the two logs are
                   from category
D, the scores are added together .

                  
Clubs and team only in the E category ,QRP only in the C category and PRO-CW and TOPS members may participate only in the category F.

  5. Contest Exchange:
                      
Non members send RST + serial numbers beginning with 001. E.g. 599 001
             Members TOPS and PRO-CW-CLUB, send RST + serial number + club abbreviation.       
             E.g. 599 001TOPS or 599 001PRO
             Do not send your number member of the club (E.g. 599 001TOPS695 or 599 001695 ).

  6. Scoring:
                  QSO Points:
                  QSO with own DXCC country: 1 point;
        QSO with another DXCC country: 2 points;
        QSO with TOPS and PRO-CW members: 2 points extra-bonus;
        QSO between TOPS and/or PRO-CW-Club  members, (F category): 6 points extra-bonus.
        Category G (SWL) for a valid QSO is given 3 points and 1 point for each incomplete.
 
                  Multiplier:
                       
Each different prefix worked will count one (1) multiplier on each band.

                       
The final score is the result of the total QSO points on all bands multiplied by the sum of multipliers on all bands.
                  The station which has shown the maximal result in his category becomes the winner
                        For G (SWL) category no multiplier, only points. Log G category may contain up to 5 times a call in a band.                              
              
  7. Awards:

  The GRAND TROPHY:
is granted every year to the station which has the highest score cumulated over the last
                                        consecutive 5 years. A trophy is given for categories A, B, C, D, E and one for
                                        category F.
 

  
Plates or cups:    - The competitor who has earned the highest score in any of categories A, B, C, D, E.
                              - The first class in every category that has at least 50 participants,
                             
- For first place category F.

   Medals:   - Top three/category (A,B,C,D,E,F) if they have QSO's with minimum  3 DXCC entities.
                     
(A QSO is considered valid only if it has been verified in the received logs and has no mistakes.)

  Certificate:  - The 3 highscorers in each category,
                    - First place in each  DXCC entity,
regardless of category as follows:
                      European participants for 25 and more valid QSO's,
                     
Non-European participants for 10 and  more  valid  QSO's.
                    - All  competitors, including the G category (SWL), will receive a certificate via email in PDF file .(except CHECK LOGs)
       
   Special prize: First entrant in A, B, and C category, certified   as a member of  PRO-CW-CLUB, sponsored by YO6EX.   
 
             
   8. Logs Instructions:  Only electronic logs as plain ASCII-files, Cabrillo format preferred. All times must be in UTC.
       
Paper logs are not accepted. Those who sent paper logs will be included in the list NO LOG.
        All sent and received exchanges are to be logged.  TAC will be made with total computerized control followed by each
        QSO computerized  analysis.

        The Cabrillo log should be attached  as a file, with your  callsign in the  “Subject:” line  of the  email.
       
Your output file should be named by your callsign, i.e. YP0CW_F.cbr or YP0CW_F.log 
        For two categories entries participants filenames used must be: yourcall_category.log or .cbr.
        i.e: YR0A_B.cbr and YR0A_D80.cbr. In the e-mail of your log, please send the file(s) as attachement.
  
      In line CATEGORY-BAND of Cabrillo log, use ONLY the name of categories specified in rules: A, B, C, D80, D40,
        D20,  D15, D10, E, F, G 
(not otherwise).The log must be sent only as an attachment, not as text or other content within the e-mail message.
       
Do not zip the log file and contain log or logs a single competitor in each mail submission. Check logs are very much
       appreciated, they are used for cross checking of all entries.Do not forget: the entrant’s name and the mail address
       (for receiving prizes).
        Remarks: Contact is valid, if a time difference in both logs does not exceed 3 minutes.

      
Participants will receive an e-mail confirmation in maximum 72 hours after the log has been received.
       During this time,  logs are checked and the shape is corrected. If you'll follow the above instructions verdict issued receipt
       log will be faster. 

  
  9. Dupes
        Dupes are contacts made with the same station on the same band. If the first contact between stations is valid, dupes
        have 0 points value. If the first contact is not valid, second  (dupe) contact is accepted. Dupe contacts are not penalized,
        so do not delete dupes.

  10.  Arbitration   

        QSOs are being not counted and excluded from the report in case of:
        - if referee does not receive a Log report from a correspondent; (NoLog)
        - if QSO is not confirmed by the Log report of the correspondent; (NotInLog)
        - if there are miscounts in exchange numbers and callsigns, QSO is removed from both operators (BadCallsign, Receive error, Partner error);

       
- if the time of QSO differs for more than 3 minutes (QSO is removed from both operators).

         Disqualification:
          - For cheating, imaginary loging and clear repetitive and and intentional violation of the contest rules.

          If you use another program of the contest do not forget to enter in the Cabrillo file, abbreviations PRO and TOPS,
          otherwise you lose points.

   11. Submission: Entries for this competition must be emailed
by 23:59:59 UTC, December 31.

   12. Results: The provisional results will be published on our site <www.procwclub.yo6ex.ro>and <http://www.yo2rr.ro>
                  in the first day of next year and final results on January 3.
                   Every participant who sends his electronic log will receive personal UBN-list, containing his errors and errors of worked stations.
